I adore Wolf Hall - just spectacular. The books, the show - I am so excited for you to read it!!

I love Wolf Hall and the whole series, I read each one approx during the year after it first was released and it was a great experience. (I had just gotten the third very long book from the library when everything shut down for Covid in March 2020 including my local library and I remember being glad I had just checked out a really long book before it shut down). It does take a minute to get used to her writing style, especially figuring out who is referring to who or who is speaking. But once you’re in, it’s wonderful. Hilary Mantel was amazing!

I feel like those early lockdown books will always be super special!

I’m guilty of being a voracious speed reader, but I have few classics (East of Eden, Middlemarch) on my reading list this year that would probably benefit from being read slowly and intentionally. So I’ll be trying to embrace the slow read for those!

I REALLY want to read / slow read East of Eden, every year I say it’s the year for it. I want to for sure either this or next year (since I probably bit off more than I can chew already this year).

My Dad has been begging me to read the Wolf Hall trilogy for years now and I haven’t been able to get started well with it, even though I too am a Tudors nerd. Maybe I need to give the Wolf Crawl a try. I’ll love to hear your thoughts on the series!

I haven’t jumped on the slow read train because I am scared they’ll be too slow to the point that I’m taken out of the story by fragmenting it up so much. I’m tempted to give one a try though because I almost always love a big book or series once I get started. I’ve found starting new books the hardest part of reading since becoming a mom.

I think this series lends itself well to a slow read because it’s packing a ton into every line. It’s also weekly instead of monthly so you don’t have much time in between sections!

I’m so happy this resonated with you! I definitely think a lot of people are feeling this way right now. Thanks for sharing that!
